After the scandal of broadcasts of its diesel engines, Volkswagen of rethinking its strategy in terms of weak economy, the German giant has therefore focused on electric cars, announcing the launch of no less than 30 models motorized by electrons in the next decade.

Here is what will become one of its first electric vehicles: it is the I.D. Concept, to be launched in 2020.

Fully electric, the I.D. Concept autonomy announced that between 400 and 600 kilometers (these figures are still to be confirmed, you can well imagine). According to the manufacturer, it should cost as much as a well equipped Golf – so say around $ 30 000, if we speak of a Highline version and it will go from 0 to 100 km / h in eight seconds. It can also reach a top speed of 160 km / h.

It is not a rocket, but it is perfect for city driving.

Volkswagen presents even an autonomous driving system with this concept: it reads the road with ten lasers and sensors. It is also in constant contact with a server that communicates of road data. However, this system will not be available before 2025.

Finally, one can expect a significant response of manufacturers in the field of electric vehicles is great news, but it is too early to declare victory.
