Jaguar is definitely the top of the pavement with his XE sedan. Indeed this beautiful car has the mandate to directly compete with the leader of the segment, some BMW Series 3. To do this, the English will be entitled to several engines that’re unveiled this morning.

First of all we will find two versions of the same 4-cylinder turbocharged. Generant respectively 200 and 240 horses, they will both accompany an automatic transmission eight reports. For more power, a 3-liter V6 supercharged (the same as that of the F-Type) will be available. In this application, it develops 340 horsepower, and allows the XE to reach 100 km / h in 4.9 seconds.

The surprising element, however, is the selection of diesel engines: the new Jaguar will be entitled to a 4-cylinder 2-liter 163 or 180 horsepower (and 280 or 317 foot-pounds of torque) depending on the chosen model. Even more interesting, these engines will be available with a manual gearbox six reports. Equipped in this way, the XE will also display a low consumption 3.8 liters / 100 km on the highway.

Regardless of the chosen engine, the car will be driven by its rear wheels. An integral cog is however optional.

You can see the Jaguar XE for the first time at the Paris Auto Paris, but the manufacturer announced that the car will not be available on our shores before 2016.
