Toyota Fine-Ride Comfort Concept, 1000 km autonomy thanks to the hydrogen
Toyota takes advantage of the next Tokyo Motor Show to present a new concept baptize Fine-Comfort Ride. With its lines resembling a futuristic minivan, the concept is above all demonstrate the effectiveness of using an electric vehicle battery technology is the hydrogen fuel is in the reduction of pollutant emission. Toyota, like many other manufacturers, firmly believes that hydrogen remains an interesting solution to quickly electrifier several types of vehicles, including SUVs and pickup truck because of their extra weight remains a large electric power.
The imposing vehicle seats six passengers and offers a lounge type of configuration that could maximize the usable space thanks to the absence of a conventional combustion engine has. The use of fuel cells has also helped to avoid to resort to batteries, which not only brings better battery life, 1 000 km depending on the manufacturer, but increases the space while reducing its weight. Rather than using a main engine, the engineers have instead decided to use four motors positioned at each wheel. Their combined power is 120 kWh according to Toyota. The tank of hydrogen is placed in the center of the floor and recharge takes only three to five minutes. Not bad for profit 1 000 km of electric autonomy!
The vehicle concept also adopts an autonomous driving, allowing the driver to release. We can rotate the front seats and create the effect of a room, enhancing the conviviality on board. Each passenger can amenager its space as it sees fit, creating a Personalized atmosphere more pleasant. For now, the model will remain a concept, but it paves the way Toyota has more marked use of hydrogen in the electrification of its models and above, a reduction of emission in the most segments popular in the world, including that of the SUV.
