The Lamborghini Urus is transformed into a beast race, which should be equally at home on land and on asphalt.

With the Urus ST-X, Lamborghini presents an amazing concept of Urus optimized for the race. It foreshadows the arrival of a championship, one-design, which will be put in place for the season 2020.

Clearly, Lamborghini has not finished to surprise the purists ! After being launched on the market of SUV with its Urus, the Italian firm is preparing to organize a new championship monotype based on this same vehicle. And if the fact of putting in place racing SUV already represents a first in the field of the championships of brands, these races will be particularly innovative, sincethey will be held on a mixed terrain, combining circuit of asphalt and dirt track.

To give a taste of what will be this championship, Lamborghini presents to us today the concept Urus ST-X. This gear is prepared by the division Squadra Corse shows us what will look like the Urus, which will then be entered in the race. Thus, we can notice the presence of shields and 21-inch wheels specific, as well as a rear spoiler placed on top of the pavilion, or even an engine hood pierced vents.

 

A system of more than 500 kg

However, the most interesting is not visible and one learns that, thanks to this preparation, the Urus has lost 25% of its mass. Which would allow him to go below 1 700 kg, so it weighs 2,200 kg to the origin. In addition, the Urus ST-X has all the security features approved by the FIA. On the other hand, the V8 4.0 biturbo engine remains original and still delivers 650 hp and 850 Nm.

The Lamborghini Urus ST-X will make its debut on the track during the final round of the season 2019 of the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, championship monotype in which clash of the Huracan. The championship ST-X will then be launched for the season 2020.
